Unarmed Security Officer (Part-Time)
Position Summary
As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting people, property, and assets by maintaining a strong and visible presence. Under the direction of a Sergeant, you will monitor premises, deter unlawful behavior, respond to incidents, and report concerns accurately and professionally. Your vigilance and professionalism help create a safe and secure environment for clients and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol assigned premises regularly, including perimeters and buildings
Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and control access to sites
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or suspicious activity
Deter criminal behavior through visible presence and adherence to post orders
Enforce site-specific rules and regulations; report violations
Complete detailed incident reports and communicate clearly with supervisors and, when needed, law
enforcement
Support emergency response efforts when required
Operate metal detectors or screening devices as needed
Perform other duties as assigned to support safety and security operations
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Georgia 24-hour unarmed security certification.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between local sites.
Strong communication and observational skills.
Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Proficiency with basic computer systems and electronic devices used in security operations.
Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Ability to walk, stand, lift, and kneel for extended periods.
Work Environment
Varies by assignment; may include industrial sites, residential neighborhoods, and commercial properties
Both indoor and outdoor work required; all weather conditions
Schedule & Travel
Part-time with flexible scheduling
Regular shifts plus potential for on-call assignments
Local travel between client sites as needed
